Born and raised in Texas, I thought I’d live there with my family forever.  But God had a different opportunity.  I met the love of my life in graduate school and have since followed him around the world as the military leads.  After 7 moves, 2 children and 3 deployments in just 14 years, it’s been a whirlwind of an adventure!  So I have a lot to be grateful for, vent about, learn from and share with anyone who will stand still long enough.

  1. This is a phenomenal topic for a blog — I’m so glad that your finding my blog led me to find yours! I wish you and your family all the best as you continue to transition through this.

    God bless,

  2. Very good idea for a blog. I too have a loved one currently deployed in Afghanistan.. I myself was a military brat so I did quite a lot of traveling as a kid.By the way, I LOVE Texas and most of my closest friends from my school days hail from the mighty state of Texas.

  3. First of all, I must say that I am grateful to people like your husband who sacrifice so much on our behalf; not only do they put their lives in danger for our safety, but they also sacrifice much of the normal day-to-day activities with their families that so many of us take for granted. And for that, I say thank you.

Secondly, I think this blog is a FANTASTIC way to let others know about the struggles and joys that come with being married to someone in the military and to help connect similar families.

Lastly, I LOVE the name of this blog! So very clever! 🙂

  4. What a wonderful topic! I will follow your blog as well – can’t wait to see what you blog about next!

  5. Hi, your blog has a very interesting subject. We are all grateful for the military and the sacrifices they and their families make. You commented on my FP post a couple months ago and, being a lame-o, I am just getting around to visiting the blogs of my nice commenters. Thank you.
